The project "It will be the house of happiness" in Siberia was intended to allow a family of four people to urgently escape from insecurity and regain the stability of a home of their own.
For several years, Helena, a single mother and her three children lived in a very precarious situation. She owns a small semi-detached house. But this modest dwelling is in such a state of insalubrity and without heating that the social services threatened to take away his children... Helena was forced to rent a small apartment for the winter, a heavy financial burden for her in addition to the family moral burden.
The Daughters of Charity, who support Helena, suggested that she apply for funding from the Rosalie Projects to buy back the other half of the house, which had heating and was in better condition, and which her neighbor wanted to sell.

"The project was not carried out without obstacles. Originally thought of as an extension of the existing terraced house, it was reoriented along the way to seize the opportunity to buy back the adjoining part occupied by its neighbor Julia who wanted to sell quickly!"

Gathering urgently part of the amount requested by the neighbor even before the project funds arrived was a major challenge for Helena. It is the solidarity of relatives, ready to grant him a loan without interest, encouraged by the support of the Rosalie Projects, which allowed to overcome this difficulty and to raise in time the necessary amount.

The renovation work was able to start and has been carried out with energy and enthusiasm!
Thanks to her savings, Helena had the two dwellings combined into a single house and she began by connecting water throughout the house. With the help of his brother and friends, a sewer system and the digging of a septic tank were carried out. Then she installed a new heating system connected to the boiler that heats the entire dwelling.
"In November, when I told Helena the good news that funding had arrived, she was overwhelmed with joy, without really daring to believe it, and burst into tears of relief! Her children were surprised to see her both laughing and crying..." Sr. Teresa

On December 31, after having paid all the expenses related to the purchase, and in possession of her property title, she was finally able to breathe. For the first time in a long time, she and her three children, her 14-year-old son, her 10-year-old daughter with a disability and her 3-year-old daughter, spend New Year’s Eve at their home, in their own house!
And there is no longer any question of the ultimatum from social services.
"Of course, I still have a lot of renovations to do, but I will get through it, little by little, and I will make this house a warm and joyful "House of Happiness". Thanks to you, we are happy to have our own house. Thank you very much. May God bless you and I remember you in my prayers.” Helena
"Today, Helena and her three children are finally living at home. The essential is acquired: a stable, warm home, and one of their own. It’s an entire family rebuilding itself, and a future that is finally opening up. When her little daughter goes to kindergarten, Helena will be able to look for work.” Sr. Teresa
