South of Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Daughters of Charity established an educational center more than 70 years ago in an area plagued by poverty. Families in these disadvantaged neighborhoods face growing social challenges: alarming unemployment rates, family breakdown, insecurity, drug addiction, and a lack of opportunities for young people…
The Medalla Milagrosa Institute has become an essential place for its 870 students, from preschool through high school.
“For many of them, who come from three marginalized neighborhoods, the school is much more than just a place to learn: it is a place of stability, trust, and hope.” Sr. Teodora Ignacia

Today, the Institute’s students are facing a reality that is holding back their future prospects: the computer lab is equipped with computers that have become completely obsolete.

Every year, this equipment is repaired to extend its useful life; however, the computers are now reaching the end of their useful life. As a result, computer science classes are no longer able to effectively teach the tools and skills that are essential in today’s world.

“These young people are growing up in difficult circumstances, often marked by a lack of resources and opportunities. Many do not have a computer at home and are only introduced to digital tools at school.” Sister Teodora Ignacia

This new equipment, consisting of 7 computers, 7 monitors, and a printer/copier, will enable teachers to offer courses tailored to current requirements and organized by skill level.
The project will directly benefit the 202 high school students, who will be able to:
- develop digital skills that are useful for their studies and future careers—skills they would not be able to acquire elsewhere
- gain independence and confidence.
“In the longer term, all students at the school will gradually benefit from this upgrade of computer equipment.” Sr. Teodora Ignacia
Behind every replaced computer, there is a young person who will be able to learn in better conditions, develop its talents, and envision a different future.
With these young people,
Thanks to you!
If the project raises more than its goal, any excess funds received will be allocated to a similar project.
