We did it

To combat famine in the Kintélé camp in Congo Brazzaville, the ‘The earth where our salvation will germinate’ project has given 10 Rwandan refugee mothers the opportunity to cultivate a plot of land. Thanks to you, these women can feed their families with their crops and enable their children to go to school.

Sr Pascaline first bought the necessary tools (cutters, buckets, machetes, spades, etc.), as well as different varieties of seeds, so that the mothers could clear the large plot of land they had rented (5 ha), prepare the soil, cultivate, water and harvest.

Accompanied by the sisters, the 10 families, highly motivated by the cultivation project, have all made a real commitment to fighting famine, a scourge for refugees without resources.

"Hi everyone, I'm Mrs Madeleine, mother of 6 children. I'm very happy with your help with the cultivation, because my children went to school this year without any problems;
and my thanks also go to the sisters for their advice."

"Hello everyone, this is Mrs Moussabimana. Thanks to your support, I live well with my children and through my work in the fields. It has also enabled me to buy school clothes and bags for my 5 children."

"We hope to continue with other families to make this type of project sustainable, as we also have a large plot of land to work in the fields. And there are now a lot of volunteers: the first project gave refugee families who were less interested at first
the courage and desire to work...!"

Thank you for supporting these Rwandan refugee families alongside the Daughters of Charity.

With them, thanks to you!
