We did it

The aim of this project was to support children with disabilities and children from poor families at the "Lindalva Inclusive School" in Nigeria. To overcome their learning difficulties, the sisters work to provide them with a safe environment and developmentally appropriate school programmes.

"The school has experienced great excitement and joy throughout the project ;
and even the local population, which has had the effect of increasing the number of children enrolled in the school
and the number of parents who come to thank Rosalie Projects!" Sister Martha Ali

The funds raised met the educational needs of 80 children.

School bags, textbooks and writing materials were distributed to the pupils. Shoes were purchased for children who came to school with old shoes or no shoes at all. The computers purchased were installed for the upper classes to facilitate their learning.

"All the children who have benefited from the project are very happy, especially those who thought all hope was lost
and had no one to help them with their education." Sister Martha Ali

The benefits of this project for the children and the school are numerous:

- children are more assiduous in class and study better at home because they have the quality school supplies, textbooks and exercise books they need to learn; they no longer roam the streets begging

- the majority of children performed very well in class activities and written exams

- the computer skills they have acquired have increased their participation and inclusion in the classroom

- the storybooks they bought helped improve their reading skills and social interaction

- occasional foot sores have been reduced thanks to new school shoes

- teachers and parents are relieved of the stress associated with the lack or inadequacy of school supplies for their children.

"The children are full of self-confidence and self-esteem. You have added sunshine to their lives and the impact is lasting

The children, parents, staff and community are extremely grateful for your support
and all welcome this new development with joyful hearts.

We are now planning to set up a small poultry farm to ensure the school's viability. The eggs will be sold at a price the villagers can afford, and the money will be used each year to fund meals and school supplies for poor children." Sister Martha Ali
