We did it

In San Lorenzo de Moxos, Bolivia, the lives of semi-nomadic indigenous communities depend on fishing, hunting, and farming. Young people grow up far removed from the digital tools that shape the world today: access to technology is virtually nonexistent.
The project " The river courses"  was intended to provide the San Lorenzo High School and Boarding School with computer equipment, thereby offering the 45 students in its care the opportunity to pursue and succeed in their higher education.

A project carried out with everyone's enthusiasm!

As soon as the funds were received, Sr. Juana and the high school staff sprang into action to organize training sessions and prepare for the arrival of the computer equipment.

A training session first introduced the students to the basics of computing. Then, the purchased equipment was installed: 2 laptops, 1 projector and a projection screen, 1 printer and ink, and 1 audio system. This equipment was made available to the students, transforming an ordinary space into a true learning environment!

In just a few weeks, the 45 high school students 20 girls and 25 boys aged 15 to 19 were able to learn how to use a tool that most of them had never used before

“The change was first evident in their expressions, curiosity, amazement, and pride! Then it showed in their attitudes: a desire to learn, to understand, and to grow. These young people have embraced these new tools with enthusiasm. Today, they are developing practical computer skills, as well as a newfound confidence in their abilities. Sr. Juana

Their teacher can now support them with tailored resources, making learning more engaging and effective. Beyond technical skills, this has opened up a window to the world, a gateway to opportunities that were previously out of reach.

A project successfully completed, though not without its challenges

Rising prices forced the team to revise its initial plans and focus its purchases on equipment essential for the training. As a result, some items could not be purchased, but the core of the project remained intact: giving young people access to digital tools and the opportunity to learn.

“Thanks to your support, this project is now a reality. Our 45 young people now have access to resources that broaden their horizons and improve their prospects for the future.” Sr Juana
