The aim of the "Pour en arriver là" project was to encourage 6 students to continue their studies in Cameroon.
Initiated in October 2022, funding for the project unfortunately came rather late, and the 6 students were impatient and worried that they wouldn't be able to start their course on time.
"They were begging the heads of their respective schools to give them the opportunity to start their courses despite their late payment of registration fees. Our sisters had interceded several times on their behalf, but the wait was painful. What a relief when they got the money and went straight to their school to pay their registration. They no longer felt stigmatized or humiliated."
Ngong, Gaelle, Felicitas and Elvira, aged between 14 and 21, were able to continue their education at St Joseph Catholic College in Mankon, the oldest Catholic school in Bamenda, several dozen km from the town of Dschang.
"Dear benefactors, I'd like to thank you for all the things you've done for me. I know things aren't easy these days, but you continue to pay my school fees and I'd like to express my immense gratitude. By sending me to school, you've not only helped me, you've given me a future. Once again, I thank you. I would also like to thank you for the textbooks you provided, which enabled me to do well in the first term exam. I came 4th with an average of 16.9. In conclusion, the second term exam is approaching and I will continue to work harder to produce excellent results" Gaelle Ketum
Idriss, who was enrolled at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique de Douala (ENSPD), was unable to start his Master pro in Electrical and Automation Engineering due to lack of funds. So as not to lose the school year, he enrolled at Cameron Metallurgy Welding Institute Service SARL (CMWIS SARL) to train as a Welding Fitter. With no money to pay the enrolment fee, and inflation constantly eroding his purchasing power, Idrisse decided to change his studies in order to earn a living quickly.
"Thanks to you, this grant will enable me to finish my studies by setting up my own small business."
Despite a difficult family situation, Kevin is fighting body and soul to continue his studies in "Marketing, Commerce and Sales" after completing an internship in insurance. The funds received enabled him to finance not only his tuition fees, but also his transport and food, his grandmother having agreed to offer him hospitality.
"Dear benefactors, on behalf of my modest family and myself, I am writing to thank you most sincerely for the support and guidance you have given to our son Kevin for his admission to one of our country's prestigious training institutes. May the Lord fill you with graces. Sincerely yours." Mr. Ambatta (Kevin's father)
