The Daughters of Charity arrived in the Congo in 1925. Since their arrival, they have been particularly active in the fields of education, health, social services, pastoral care and development (agriculture, crafts, small businesses, etc.).
Several schools, health centers and retirement homes are run by the company, which is dedicated to serving the most disadvantaged throughout the country, which has 15 houses.
"Jeunesse en Chaine Pour le Développement" (JCD) is one of the fruits of the congregation's labors. It was created on January 23, 2016 in Kinshasa.
Its main objective is to educate young girls and boys who wish to pool their talents and knowledge for the good and development of their society.
The Centre Marie Bernard enables the JCD Group to organize a range of training courses for unemployed young people excluded from the world of work.
The acquisition of computer skills is one of JCD's initiatives to guarantee better employability, as none of these young people can afford this training.
The aim of the project is to finance the annual digital training of 50 young people.
These courses will enable them to master the use of basic computer software such as Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint, and to familiarize themselves with Photoshop, as well as learning professional photography.
The association also needs to maintain and complete the equipment in the existing computer rooms, finance the trainers' salaries and ensure a good electrical network in order to guarantee the best possible level of learning for the students.
Thanks to this project, 50 young girls and boys will be able to increase their chances of finding stable employment and becoming financially independent.
With them, thanks to you!

I am Sister Wivine KISU NZILA, a member of the Company of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, in the Province of Congo. I have taught at the Lycées ELIKYA AND LIZIBA and given a few courses at the Institut Frère ILOO (Collège belonging to the Brothers of the Christian Schools) in Mbandaka.
Within the Congregation, as Seminary Director, I worked on the formation of young people and adults wishing to become Daughters of Charity. In one of our communities, I was part of a team of people responsible for accompanying children and young girls from broken homes, commonly known as "street girls".
In December 2021, as a member of the Provincial Council of the Province of Congo, I was appointed Director of the Association "La Jeunesse en Chaine pour le Développement" (JCD), with the aim of helping these young adults to better restructure their Association and organize themselves to effectively meet their objectives.
