The Daughters of Charity have been present in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon, since 1992. It is a densely populated city in the centre of the country, with around a hundred neighbourhoods with a multi-ethnic and foreign population from Africa and elsewhere. Both rich and poor live here, with the latter becoming increasingly numerous.

The Médaille Miraculeuse bilingual school group has no computer room

Committed to the school for three years, 3 sisters work alongside a team of 20 lay people to ensure the education of more than 350 girls and boys aged between 3 and 11.

In the absence of a computer room, pupils are currently deprived of practical lessons on "New Information and Communication Technologies". This makes it difficult to effectively teach the content required by the official curricula.

"It's a worry not to have a computer room in a school today... Families often don't have the financial resources to equip their homes with computers and are worried. Teachers tell us that if they don't have computer equipment, they run the risk of falling behind in their learning.
This project will put everyone's worries to rest." Sr Gladice

The project: to improve the quality of teaching and achieve educational objectives by creating a computer room with 12 computers and 1 video projector

"The existence of a computer room in the school will make practical lessons on "New Information and Communication Technologies" easy and effective; it will also serve as a place for other lessons based on video projections." Sr Gladice

The school already has a room that can house the project.

The aid provided will make a financial contribution to :
- the provision of computer tables and chairs for pupils and teachers
- the electrical installation for the connections to the computer and projection equipment, the air conditioning system and the WIFI and internet connections
- the purchase and commissioning of all equipment.

The main beneficiaries will be the 350 pupils and teachers, who will be able to enrich their lessons through the use of this teaching equipment.

With the computer room, children will be able to receive high-quality teaching in line with educational objectives.

With them, thanks to you!

Soeur Gladice Crodelle Azanguim
