The "L'Ile aux Enfants" project has enabled us to renovate a play area for neglected children.
In Asunción, Paraguay, many children wander the streets during the day, their (often single) mothers too busy working to provide for them.
The Daughters of Charity of Asunción have opened a day care center, "El Centro Abierto", where the children are safe while receiving healthy food, medical care, and special attention to their personal and academic development. The Center also helps to prevent the risk of delinquency among these young children.
Unfortunately, the outdoor play area was in very poor condition and becoming dangerous.
Sister Agustina explains:
"Once the funds were received, we proceeded to purchase the swings and slides, and then launched the orders for the lighting work and the refurbishment of the play area to make it more functional.
However, we had problems delivering the wind farms due to an overload of orders, and then unfavorable and unstable weather prevented us from carrying out the work straight away.
Now that the park has been renovated, the children are very enthusiastic about playing outdoors. They enjoy moments of joy and laughter, and experience what every child needs for his or her full development.
This support from Rosalie Projects for the redevelopment of the park has enabled us to use our own funds to continue to cover essential expenses: staff salaries, food, clothing, education, supplies as well as consultations and medication.
Without your donations, we would not have been able to finance this play area".
Many thanks!
With them, thanks to you
