The “Farm of Hope” (La Fazenda da Esperança) is a therapeutic community with over 30 years of experience in the recovery of young drug addicts and dependent on alcohol. It rates as the major Latin-American initiative in this field. It has helped thousands of families and young to live encounter with them and with God.

The detoxification program is based on family support, the work seen as a pedagogical process and regain human dignity,  the meaning of life, and to help build self-esteem.

All the work with young drug addicts and dependent on alcohol are guided by the Divine Providence and their healing is the consequence of reading, reflexion of the practice of the word God. 

Since 2006, in the Paraiba’s state (Brazil North-Est) the “Father Ibiapina”s is a welcome center for men drug addicts. The center welcomes 65 persons from 15 to 45 years old who want to detox of drugs or other addictions, but for there is this it is accordingly necessary to follow a pedagogical process of 12 months.

Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul from Recife Province bring everyday help and support of “Father Ibiapina” center.

What is the project aim?

The aim of the project is to develop and improve production of biscuits and cakes which are baked in the “Father Ibiapina” center with the new bakery and pastry industrial equipment for the kitchen.

This acquisition will support the training program of the pedagogical project, individual's personal and professional development and reintegration into the community of young welcomed by “Father Ibiapina” center. As the result, the Bakery is the essential tool in the program of detox of drugs or other addictions for 65 persons.

This Project will involve beneficiaries from the production of selling process of all products baked.

The “Farm of Hope” (La Fazenda da Esperança) activities are developing with beneficiaries, families and Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul community.

How is project will take place?

In the internal structure of "Father Ibiapina" center, there is a room for the Bakery running. All biscuits currently are produced in small quantity and they are selling to families and visitors of the center. This initiative motivates us to offer our products to local market because few homemade products are available in the region.

Volunteers both young and old with practice and knowledge sharing will help us to achieve the new project. Other volunteers will help us for the young beneficiary Professional program training for cakes and biscuits productions.
